College Radio Day Set for Tuesday
Stephens radio students will participate in the first annual College Radio Day, hosted by RadioFlag, on Tuesday, Oct.11. The aim of the day is to harness the combined listenership of hundreds of thousands of college radio listeners throughout North America and to celebrate the important contribution of college radio to America's airwaves by uniting for this one day.
Stephens’ KWWC is among 330 stations nationwide to participate in the celebration.
From 8 a.m. until midnight, Sweet 90.5 FM, KWWC - The Voice of Stephens College will be live on the air. At 9 a.m., the day will kick off with The Stephens Hymn, performed a cappella by Stephens' own Velvetones. Click for the schedule of 19 announcers, including Stephens students and alumnae. The day will feature CD giveaways, lots of great music and information, and some widely diverse personalities.
KWWC recognizes the privilege of hands-on educational facilities, the opportunity for practical applications and the unique niche that is radio in the hands of college women.
