Title: Director

Job description: Clinical nurse practitioner—see students for health and illness issues, provide wellness education, offer wellness programs

Office location: East side Stamper Commons, Lower level (Facebook page)

Years at Stephens: Came in August 2000

My department/office described in three words: out-of the way, friendly, healing

Best part about my work: helping students through hard times

Words of advice to our students: Be good to yourself and to your health.

Family and pets: husband Tom, pharmacist; two sons, Jason (26), David (23); one daughter, Allison (19); one dog, Maggie; two kittens, Stella and Ellie

Community involvement: grants committee member for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, lector at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, member of MCNAP (Missouri Coalition of Nurses in Advanced Practice)

In my spare time, I: walk/bike/run the trails, bargain shop for antiques, read, grow potted plants and flowers

Favorite place in Columbia: my backyard

Most people don't know that I: used to love to act

A two-person exhibition featuring paintings and prints by Brian David Smith and Michael Buesking that explore narration and storytelling through process and illustration.

"Blast from the Past" A Halloween Costume Rummage Sale

Join the Stephens College Warehouse Theatre for “Blast from the Past,” a rummage sale of retro costumes from several eras! All proceeds benefit the Warehouse and Costume Shop.

MLKSU Fiesta Night

Have fun with MLKSU in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a Fiesta night! There will be a Piñata party, arts and crafts, and other activities. We will have beautiful luminaries hanging around, and students can listen to many great sounds of Hispanic artists. 2 community points available.

Spookathon
7:30 -11 p.m., Oct. 29; Dudley Patio or Chapel in bad weather
The annual Sigma Tau Delta Spookathon features a marathon reading of original or favorite works, scary or not, with drawings throughout the evening for prizes awarded to the readers and to those with the best Halloween costumes. Each reading earns a donation to help support the Home of Love orphanage in India and to fund Stephens student travel to professional conferences. Seasonal Refreshments and Leadership Points!

Good Form: Dress and Decorum for the Woman of Fashion, 1873-1911

An exploration of the rules that governed women's dress and daily lives at the turn of the 20th century.
