Ten Ideals Need Your Help
The Ten Ideals are one of Stephens' greatest strengths, and have become character traits that the College seeks to instill in all of its students. They are in place to inspire great thoughts and great actions amongst the women of this institution. The Ten Ideals of the 2009-2010 school year have been watching over the community this year in search for two special individuals to further represent what it means to be a "Stephens Woman."

The "Best Private Citizen," though she does not hold an office pertaining to campus government, shows a consistent constructive influence in abiding by and respecting campus laws in her power of leadership. With unquestioned personal citizenship, she is an outstanding force for good, maintaining the Ideals of the school at all times in both attitude and action. She possesses. to some degree, each of the character attributes of the Ten Ideals.

The "Four-Fold Girl": mental strength, physical health, social poise, spiritual vision--these are the characteristics of the Stephens Four-Fold Girl, characteristics which are evident in all that she does and says. Others turn to her naturally for guidance and counsel and find her always sympathetic and understanding. She has a wide range of interests and participates in many activities, but in her investment of time and effort she shows an intelligent balance of emphasis.

The Ten would like to know if you are one of these girls? Do you meet the needs of yourself and those around you? Show us how you represent Stephens! Please send your nominations to the Ten Ideals at TenIdeals@stephens.edu.

Don't forget: We are Watching You!

What is CLA?

The CLA (Collegiate Learning Assessment) is a test of critical-thinking skills that Stephens gives every year to a sample of incoming freshmen and graduating seniors. It's a national standardized test, but not the usual "fill-in-the-bubble" stuff—it actually asks you to think (!). It's also a key part of our campus-wide assessment effort.

Seniors: if you have been selected for the sample group, you will soon receive an e-mail from Dr. Terry with an appointment date/time for your CLA session. Watch for it. Everyone who participates will have a chance to win fabulous incentive gifts such as gift certificates to the Bookshelf, a $100 Columbia Mall gift card, tickets to the Spring Fashion Show, tickets to HMS Pinafore, and a free night's stay at the Guest Suites at Stephens. Contact Jim Terry with any questions.

Seniors: Important Graduation Information
As you prepare for Commencement on Saturday, May 15, don't forget about the following:

2. Commencement Tickets: pick up in the Office of Academic Affairs, LRW, third floor, by April 15.
