Graduate Assistant position for 2010 - 2011
Position requires the following:
- Bachelor's degree
- Acceptance and enrollment into a graduate program at Stephens College or other college
- Work experience or education relevant to the duties of the position strongly preferred
Compensation packages will all offer the following:
- Yearly stipend paid out monthly (varies per position)
- Tuition waiver at Stephens College for a graduate program
- Room in residence hall at Stephens College
Institutional Research Assistant
Department: Academic Affairs
Classification: Administrative
Hours per year: 875 total; average of 15 – 20 hours per week
Yearly stipend: $5000
Months: 10
Duties:
- Assist in reviewing data requests received by the college in order to establish an annual plan for institutional data collection.
- Coordinate with various college offices to compile institutional data.
- Assist in developing databases that allow dynamic tracking of the distributed data over time.
- Assist in developing spreadsheets that compute descriptive statistics and cross-tabulations of institutional indexes.
- Assist in designing and writing reports of institutional findings, including generating figures and tables, as well as a formatting/style template.
Specific skills and experience for this position:
- working with distributed, dynamic databases
- conducting quantitative research, preferably in higher education administration
- calculating descriptive statistics using spreadsheet programs
- reporting quantitative research
- developing tables, figures, and report layouts
