Fiscal
Year 2008 Holidays
The following days have been approved as official holidays for the 2008 fiscal year (June 1, 2007-May 31, 2008):
- Wednesday, July 4, 2007, Independence Day
- Monday, September 3, 2007, Labor Day
- Thursday, November 22, 2007, Thanksgiving Day
- Friday, November 23, 2007, Day After Thanksgiving
- Monday, May 26, 2008, Memorial Day
- We will also be closed Monday, December 24, 2007 and re-opening on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 for Holiday Break.
Any employee that works on a holiday during the break receives holiday pay plus overtime for hours worked. Stephens College considers Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day to be “official holidays.” Thus, any employee who is scheduled and works on these days will receive holiday pay plus overtime pay for any hours worked. (Totaling 2 ½ times the employee’s regular pay rate.) Any other day that the college is closed for the holiday break is not considered an official holiday. Employees will receive “leave with pay.” If an employee works during the break on a day which is not considered an official holiday, then they will receive regular pay plus the amount for leave with pay. (Totaling 2 times the employee’s regular pay rate.) Employees will not receive holiday pay or leave with pay for any days that they are not regularly scheduled to work.
