Proctor Responsibilities
Proctors are responsible for following the guidelines set forth by Stephens College:
Receive and Secure Examination Material
- Course instructors will contact you via email with login and password information for all online examinations.
- Review the instructor’s correspondence and confirm that you have received the password for the examination. Please report any discrepancies or omissions to the instructor immediately.
- Store the password in a secure place until the time of the test administration. The student will contact you to schedule the examination.
- The examination may not be reproduced before, during, or after its administration.
Provide an Appropriate Site to Administer Examination
- During the examination, the site should be free from noise and distractions, and have adequate lighting, ventilation, a comfortable seat and work table for the student.
- The site should be off limits to other personnel during the administration of the test.
Administer Examination
- Monitor the testing process to ensure that all rules/standards are met. Any attempt on the part of the student during the examination to utilize any other materials than the agreed upon sources immediately invalidates the results of the examination and is grounds for terminating the testing procedure.
- Do not, at any time, answer any questions related to the content of the examination.
- Note any exceptions to the proctor guidelines that occur during the test or any unusual circumstances surrounding the test administration and report them to the instructor. Examples of such occurrences include loud or distracting noises or computer problems.
- Do not, under any circumstances, let the student print the exam.
