(4-9-08) Softball v.s. Harris Stowe Postponed
The Stephens College softball game scheduled for Wednesday April
9th vs Harris Stowe has been postponed due to unplayable field
conditions. The game will not be made up. Stephens will be back
in action on Tuesday April 15th against Benedictine University
in Atchison KS. Gametimes are scheduled for 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.

The Stephens College softball game scheduled for Tuesday April
8th vs MacMurray College has been postponed due to rain. The game
will not be made up. Stephens will be back in action at home on
Tuesday April 9th against Harris Stowe. Gametimes are scheduled
for 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.

(4-3-08) Softball v.s. University of Illinois at Springfield
Postponed
The Stephens College softball game scheduled for Thursday April
3rd has been postponed due to rain in the Springfield area. The
game will not be made up. Stephens will be back in action at home
on Tuesday April 8th against MacMurray College. Gametimes are
scheduled for 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
(4-2-08) Softball Drops Pair To Westminster
The Stephens College softball team dropped a pair of games to
Westminster College on Wednesday evening. Trista Reeves picked
up her first collegiate hit in game one. Maggie See singled and
drove in her third run of the season in game two. The Stars will
return to action Thursday April 3rd at the University of Illinois
at Springfield. Gametimes are scheduled for 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
(3-31-08) Softball v.s. Westminster Postponed & Rescheduled
for April 2nd
The Stephens College road game against Westminster scheduled for
March 31st, has been postponed due to wet field conditions. The
game will be made up on Wednesday April 2nd at 6:00 & 8:00
p.m.
(3-31-08) Softball v.s. MacMurray Rescheduled for Tuesday.
April 8th
The Stephens College road game against MacMurray College that
was postponed on March 18th has been re-scheduled for for Tuesday
April 8th. Gametimes are scheduled for 1:00 & 3:00 p.m. at
the Daniel Boone Little League in Columbia.
(3-21-08) Softball Team Drops Pair In Home Opener
The Stephens College softball team dropped both games of their
home opener on Friday to Missouri Baptist. The Stars had a season
high five hits in the first game led by Gemma McKenna who was
2-3 with a double. Missouri Baptist no-hit Stephens in game two.
The Stars will be back in action on March 31st at Westminster
College. Game times are scheduled for 6:00 & 8:00 p.m.
(3-18-08) Stephens Softball v.s. Harris Stowe Postponed
The Stephens College road game against Harris Stowe scheduled
for March 19th, has been postponed due to wet field conditions.
The next scheduled game for the Stars is Friday March 21st against
Missouri Baptist at the Daniel Boone Little League in Columbia.
Gametimes are 4:00 & 6:00 p.m.
(3-17-08) Stephens Softball v.s. MacMurray College Postponed
The Stephens College home opener scheduled for Tuesday March 18th
against MacMurray College, has been postponed due to wet field
conditions. The Stars next scheduled home game is Friday March
21st against Missouri Baptist at the Daniel Boone Little League
in Columbia. Gametimes are 4:00 & 6:00 p.m.
(3-16-08) Stephens Softball Drops Pair To Ottawa
The Stephens College softball team was defeated twice at the hands
of Ottawa University in Kansas on Saturday. In game one Mikala
Houchins posted a 2-2 effort at the plate. The stars got on the
scoreboard twice in the second game with Maggie See picking up
a pair of RBI's. Bonnie Craighead had a double and a run scored
for the Stars. Stephens is scheduled to be back in action at home
on Tuesday March 18th vs. MacMurray College. Gametimes are scheduled
for 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
(3-14-08) Stephens Softball v.s. MacMurray College Rescheduled
for March 18th
The Stephens College home opener originally scheduled for Saturday
March 8th against MacMurray College, which was postponed do to
cold temperatues, has been rescheduled for Tuesday March 18th.
Gametimes are slated for 1:00 & 3:00 p.m. at the Daniel Boone
Little League in Columbia.
(3-14-08) Stephens Softball Off To 0-3 Start
The Stephens College Softball team dropped their opening three
ballgames this during this past week. After waiting nearly a month
to get on the field after having their first 11 games postponed
to rain, the Stars travelled to Haskell Indian Nations University
in Lawrence KS on Tuesday. In Game 1 Stephens got an outstanding
pitching performance from sophomore Joni Ahern who allowed just
three hits and no earned runs in six innings of work. A handful
of defensive miscues throughout the game allowed Haskell to come
away with a 4-0 win. In Game 2 the Haskell bats came alive in
route to an 11-0 victory over. Thursday Stephens travelled to
a rain soaked Fulton, MO to face off against American Midwest
Conference leading William Woods who had scored 10 or more runs
in three of their four previous games heading into their contest
with Stephens. The Owls continued their strong hitting and defeated
Stephens 16-0. Game 2 of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed
due to rain. Stephens is back in action on Saturday when they
travel to Ottawa, KS to face off against Ottawa University. Scheduled
gametimes are 2:00 & 4:00 pm.
(3-6-08) Stephens Softball v.s. MacMurray College Postponed
The Stephens College home opener scheduled for Saturday March
8th against MacMurray College has been postponed do to freezing
cold temperatures forcast for the Columbia area on Saturday. Stephens
is now scheduled to open the 2008 season on the road on Tuesday
March 11th, versus Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence,
Kansas. Gametimes are slated for 3:00 & 5:00p.m.
(2-29-08) Stephens Softball Home Opener Postponed
The Stephens College home opener scheduled for Saturday March
1st against Bethany has been postponed do to unplayable field
conditions. Stephens is now scheduled to open the 2008 season
at home next Saturday, March 8th, versus MacMurray College at
the Daniel Boone Little League Complex in Columbia. Gametimes
are slated for 1:00 & 3:00p.m.
(2-27-08) Mother Nature - 2 , Stephens Softball - 0
The Stephens College softball game vs. Lindenwood scheduled for
2-28-08 has been postponed due to poor field conditions at Lindenwood.
This is the second consecutive weather related postponement for
the Stars who also lost their season opening tournament at Evangel
due to winter weather.
(1-7-08) Stephens College Signs Kansas Prep Standout
Sydney Roth
Stephens College is happy to announce the signing of Kansas prep
stay Sydney Roth. Roth led her Minneapolis High School softball
team hitting .549 with 6 homeruns and 30 RBI's as a junior. Roth
will major in creative
writing at Stephens.
(10-25-07) Stephens freshman softball player Cara Leis
featured in Columbia Missourian newspaper: Cara Leis,
a freshman from Rapid City, South Dakota was recently the subject
of a feature story by the Columbia Missourian which focuses on
her life as a three sport student athlete at Stephens. Click

(10-5-07) Stephens College Signs Oregon All-State Performer
Emily Becker : Stephens College
is happy to announce the signing of Emily Becker of Beaverton,
Oregon for the 2008-09 academic year. Becker earned First Team
All-State honors during her junior season, batting .500 with 17
doubles and two homeruns while leading her Valley Catholic High
School softball team to a 22-5 overall record and the OSAA 3-A
State Championship. Emily's dog Zoie will be joining her at Stephens
as part of the college's pet
program.

Month ceremony in Jefferson City: Stephens College softball
player Casey Martin, student Ashley Barngrover, and softball coach
Ben Lipson meet Missouri governor Matt Blunt during a visit to
the governor's mansion as part of the kickoff to Breast Cancer
Awareness month in the state of Missouri. The group was led by
Brenda McSherry, director of health services at Stephens.
