STEPHENS STARS SIGN AMITY SPARKS
AS NAIA TENNIS RECRUIT FOR 2005-2006

Mo. - Stephens
College announces the signing of Amity Sparks, a senior at Kirksville
High School, for the 2005-2006 tennis season. Sparks will sign for
the Stephens Stars at a ceremony at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2005,
at Kirksville High School in Kirksville, Mo.
"Amity will be able to provide a great deal of experience at a very high level to our tennis program," said Dane Pavlovich, Stephens College athletic recruiter. "She looks to provide an immediate impact for the Stars."
Sparks finished high school play as the #5 singles player (18-1 record) and #3 doubles player (11-3 record) at Kirksville High School. Her team finished 13-3, losing in the state quarterfinals to Marshall High School, who finished fourth in the state.
"Amity has a great attitude and is one of the most unselfish, team-oriented kids I have ever had," said Kirksville tennis coach Steve Smith.
Stephens College, established in 1833, is historically committed to meeting the changing needs of women. Stephens engages students in an innovative educational experience focused on pre-professional fields and the performing arts, and grounded in the liberal arts.
