COLUMBIA , Mo. - Stephens College announces the signing of Tamara Calvin, a graduate of Southern Boone High School in Ashland , Mo. , for the 2006-2007 basketball season. Calvin, a 6'0" forward, will sign at 9 a.m. today, Friday, May 5, 2006, in Windsor Lounge (Stamper Commons), 1300 E. Broadway, on the Stephens campus.

 Calvin, a four-year basketball letter winner, served as team captain and was a starting forward her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. As a senior, she held a team high 82 percent field goal percentage. During her four years of high school play, she scored 407 points, gathered 341 rebounds and helped her team reach a record of 75-34.

"Tamara is an extremely physical player who will be able to provide an immediate impact in the front court," said Dane Pavlovich, Stephens College head basketball coach and associate athletic director . "She has a great deal of potential, and her best basketball is ahead of her."
