STEPHENS STARS SIGN ERIKA TOURNEAR AS NAIA SOFTBALL RECRUIT FOR 2006-2007
COLUMBIA
, Mo. - Stephens College announces the signing of Erika Tournear
, a freshman at Stephens College in Columbia , Mo. Tournear, a pitcher
and short stop, signed Thursday, April 27th along with three other
players; Bonnie Craighead, Monica Massey and Kristi Rackers for
the 2006-2007 softball season. The upcoming season will mark the
return of softball to the College.
Cross country will also be added to the College's NAIA sports teams
in volleyball, basketball, swimming and tennis.
During her high school career, Tournear played for Camdenton High School and the 16U Sizzlers summer select team a the Lake of the Ozarks. Her excellence on the softball field brought her four varsity letters, two Honorable Mention All-Conference nominations and one All-Conference award.
"I like Erika, she has a real passion for softball," says Chris Collier, Stephens College head softball coach. "She will be a great asset for us. I look for Erika to be solid on the mound and bring great athleticism to our team."
