STEPHENS STARS SIGN BONNIE CRAIGHEAD AS NAIA SOFTBALL RECRUIT FOR 2006-2007
COLUMBIA
, Mo. - Stephens College announces the signing of Bonnie Craighead,
a freshman at Stephens College in Columbia , Mo. Craighead, an outfielder,
signed Thursday, April 27 along with three other players; Monica
Massey , Erika Tournear and Kristi Rackers for the 2006-2007 softball
season. The upcoming season will mark the return of softball to
the College. Cross country will
also be added to the College's NAIA sports teams in volleyball,
basketball, swimming and tennis.
During her high school career, Craighead provided leadership for the Eagles of Grain Valley High School in Grain Valley , MO . Her excellence on the softball field brought her four varsity letters and the Eagle Spirit Leadership Award. Bonnie also played for a local traveling team called the Predators.
"There are few people in this world who work hard day in and day out without a word of complaint. Who show up with a smile on their face and put in the time for the love of their passion. Bonnie Craighead is one of those rare finds," says Chris Collier, Stephens College head softball coach. "Bonnie will be a special one, what more can a coach ask for than a young lady willing to give her all for the betterment of the team. I'm excited to have her on the field and look forward to seeing her succeed."
