STEPHENS COLLEGE SIGNS GRACIE BOELSEMS AS NAIA BASKETBALL RECRUIT FOR 2009
COLUMBIA , Mo. – Stephens College announces the signing of Gracie Boelsems, a senior at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, Calif., for the 2009-2010 season. Boelsems signed her letter of intent on May 9, 2009, at her home. Boelsems earned the following awards during her high school career:
High School Basketball Honors:
- 1 st Team All Sunset League (2008-2009)
- Team Captain (2008-2009)
- Senior Scholar Athlete Award (2008-2009)
- Scholar Athlete (2005-2009)
Senior High School Basketball Statistics and Awards:
- 7.1 points per game
- Lead team to an 18-10 record
- Team finished 3 rd in Sunset League
- Won the Consolation Championship at the Larry Doyle Orange Country Champions Tournament
“Gracie has been a tremendous leader at Marina High School both on- and off- the court,” says Dane Pavlovich, Stephens College head basketball coach and associate athletic director. “She has a tremendous amount of potential and versatility on the court and she is going to be a great fit for our program. She is the type of well-rounded student-athlete we are looking for at Stephens.”
Stephens offers National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) sports teams in basketball, cross country, softball, swimming, tennis and volleyball. The College began play in the American Midwest Conference in Fall 2008.
