STEPHENS STARS SIGN CARA LEIS AS NAIA THREE-SPORT RECRUIT FOR 2007-2008
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Stephens College announces the signing of Cara Leis, a senior at Rapid City Central High School in Rapid City, S.D., for the 2007-2008 academic year. Leis will sign her letter of intent to play volleyball, basketball and softball at 1 p.m. (MT) on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Rapid City Central H.S. Leis is a 5’9” outside hitter, guard/forward and outfielder. Stephens also offers NAIA sports teams in cross country, swimming and tennis.
“Cara is a very talented student-athlete who has the ability to balance numerous athletic and other extracurricular activities and complete them all at a high level.” said Dane Pavlovich, Stephens College associate athletic director and head basketball coach. “She will represent Stephens very well as a three-sport athlete.”
Volleyball Accomplishments:
- Three-year letter winner

- State AA All-Tournament team
- All Conference-Greater Dakota Conference
Basketball Accomplishments:
- Team captain
- Best Free Throw Percentage Award
- Defensive Player of the Year
- Fox Channel 7 Powerade Athlete of the Week
Other Athletic Accomplishments:
- Member of the Dakota State Championship ASA softball team league champions
- State runner-up in high jump
- Elite 15 nominee by the South Dakota High School Activities Association
- Wendy’s High School Heisman Finalist
- Nominee for South Dakota High School Athlete of the Year
