STARS SIGN Sheena connely AS NAIA BASKETBALL RECRUIT FOR 2006-2007
COLUMBIA , Mo. - Stephens College announces the signing of Sheena Connely, a senior at Lafayette High School in Wildwood, Mo. , for the 2006-2007 basketball season. Connely, a 5'7" point guard, will sign today, Wednesday, April 12, 2006 , at Lafayette High School .
As a senior, Connely averaged 6.7 points (402 career), 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists (108 career), and 2.48 steals per game (160 career). Her excellence on the basketball court has brought her the following awards: four-year varsity letter winner, All-Conference Honorable Mention (2004-2005, 2005-2006), team leader in assists and steals, third place ranking in all-time steals at high school, and team outstanding defensive player. She helped lead her varsity team to a 71-38 record. The team won back-to-back District Championships (2004-2005, 2005-2006), and back-to-back Suburban West Conference Championships (2004-2005, 2005-2006).
"Sheena comes from an outstanding high school program in Lafayette High School . She is a pesky defender who does a nice job distributing and handling the basketball," said Dane Pavlovich, Stephens College head basketball coach. "She has played at a high level for four years, and we look forward to her continued growth and development in the next four years at Stephens."
