STARS SIGN Mikala Houchins AS NAIA BASKETBALL, Volleyball RECRUIT
FOR 2006-2007
COLUMBIA , Mo. - Stephens College announces the signing of
Mikala Houchins, a senior at Bowling Green High School in Bowling
Green , Mo. , for the 2006-2007 basketball and volleyball seasons.
Houchins, a 5'2" point guard/setter and defensive specialist,
will sign at 3 p.m. today, Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Bowling
Green High School.
Her excellence on the basketball and volleyball
court has brought her the following awards: Lady Bobcat Sportsmanship
Award (volleyball) and a defense award for two years (basketball).
"Mikala has a good deal of potential because of her athleticism and work ethic," said Dane Pavlovich, Stephens College head basketball coach. "Her quickness has been a strength for her on both the volleyball and basketball courts. She will develop into a fine student-athlete for Stephens."
