Philanthropies:
- Girl Scouts of the USA – In 1998, we adopted the Girl Scouts of the USA as a national philanthropy.
- Prevent Child Abuse America – Kappa Delta was the first sorority to choose the prevention of child abuse as a national philanthropy. Prevent Child Abuse America now has branches in all fifty states.
- Orthopaedic Research Awards – Since 1950, Kappa Delta has funded the highly coveted Orthopaedic Research Awards through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). The three awards of $20,000 each are considered by the Academy to be the highest recognition of excellence and promise in orthopaedic research.
- Children’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia – Kappa Delta’s support of the Children’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia dates back to 1921. Today, the Kappa Delta Foundation Children In Need Fund donates $25,000 annually directly to the hospital.
- National Women’s Friendship Day – Kappa Delta was the first to establish a national holiday to celebrate women’s friendship. National Women’s friendship Day was created so women everywhere can celebrate the importance of our female friends.

Events and Socials:
National Women’s Friendship Day – Every year on the third Sunday in September we celebrate National Women’s Friendship Day. It is a holiday started by Kappa Delta aimed to promote true friendship among women everywhere (not just KDs).
Shamrock – Our largest annual event where we raise funds to donate too Prevent Child Abuse America
Girl Scout Events – Each year we participate in six Girl Scout Events. The events vary year to year, however, we either host the Girl Scouts on campus or we do an event with them off campus.
Annual Hayride, Winter Semi-Formal, Socials with Fraternities from Mizzou, Dad’s Weekend, Mom’s Weekend, Sisterhood Week, and Spring Formal.
