2013 Trips
Several trips in 2013 are being planned by Kathleen Fung ’67 (of Far Fung Places LLC) and Suze Ferguson Douglas ’77 (of France Ever After Tours at a discounted rate as part of the Stephens Alumnae Travel Program. Escapade to the French Countryside

Join Suze on an exploration of the Dordogne Valley of southwestern France and discover the rustic charm, dramatic landscapes, and wonderful cuisine of this enchanting region. This culturally rich province traces its civilization to prehistoric Man, who left his most impressive mark in Europe in the Dordogne’s cave of Lascaux. More recently, in medieval times, the area was the hub of castle & châteaux construction and today boasts more than 1000 fortresses, which dot the landscape above the Dordogne River. Peru, the land of the Incas with Machu Picchu and three nights in Cusco with its well-preserved Incan monuments, Trujillo to visit Chan Chan, the largest pre-Columbian mud city in the Americas, and the Lord of Sipan at Chiclayo, a renowned royal burial site dating to the 2nd century. Kathleen Fung, founder of Far Fung Places, leads this fascinating historical journey. To encourage Stephens College alumnae to travel with us, Far Fung Places has selected the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel in lieu of the luxury Sanctuary Resort for our overnight visit to this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Machu Picchu Pueblo hotel is an intimate deluxe cottage hotel on a 12 acre mountain reserve at the foot of the Machu Picchu mountain.We heard from many alumnae that they wanted to stay at the luxury Sanctuary Lodge just minutes away from the Machu Picchu, so we are now offering this exclusive hotel as an option. So far everyone who has booked the trip has selected this special property. But, there's even more reason to book now. Working in cooperation with our Peruvian operator, we are extending a special offer of $450 per person discount for booking prior to February 2013. Land price for the Peru trip is: $5743 per person, double occupancy for program with the luxury Sanctuary; or land price, $5349 per person, double occupancy with superior class Pueblo Lodge Machu Picchu. Regional and international fares are extra: $1200 approximately. Due to advanced bookings, we only have space for two more doubles on this program featuring the Sanctuary.
