Scholars Weekend - Stephens College

Stephens Scholars Weekend: Feb. 10-11, 2012

You have a preliminary invitation to compete for one of SIX scholarships to Stephens College! Three scholarships will be awarded for full tuition and three for 75% of tuition at Stephens College.

The following are next steps to secure your candidacy and prepare for the competition:

Apply to Stephens
Write your essay:

Prompt – During the last year, what book have you read that impacted you most? How did you learn about this book? How has this book influenced you?
Format – Must be in standard essay format (typed; double spaced; 12-point Times New Roman font; 1-inch page margins; maximum of two pages).
Submission – Submit via email as an attachment to apply@stephens.edu with the subject line stating “Scholars Weekend Essay.” Submissions are due Feb. 1, 2012.

BONUS! – Since you received this invitation, your essay for the scholarship competition will also serve as your writing sample/personal statement for the application for admissions.

Be sure Stephens receives official documentation of your grades (i.e. request an official transcript be sent to us from your high school) and a test score (ACT or SAT accepted) to verify your eligibility for competition. Remember, minimum qualifications are a 25 ACT or 1700 SAT score AND a 3.5 GPA. Verification must be received before an award will be offered.
Plan to arrive on campus by 2 p.m. Friday, February 10. Your schedule will include interviewing with faculty, producing another writing sample, and getting a firsthand feel for this enchanting environment.
