Pet Central

Stephens College has been welcoming assorted furry, feathery, scaly friends to college since Fall 2004. (Our horses, however, must live at the Stables.) Pet Central (aka Searcy Hall) is called home to more than 40 students and their pets on the Stephens College campus. In fact, this program has grown so much that now many other dorms offer pet-friendly floors.

Stephens is one of the most pet-friendliest campuses on the planet, according to places like Dogster, My College Guide, U.S. News, Petside.com, DogSpot and the Huffington Post. Our Pet Central program has appeared in The New York Times and on the Today Show. Read more!

Bring a Pet

Home to Pet Central and Doggie Daycare, Stephens is the friendliest campus on the planet when it comes to allowing students to bring pets to live with them at school. As a trailblazer in 2004, Stephens offers students the opportunity to bring a cat, dog, rabbit, bird, fish or other approved pet to live in their residence hall room. Students and their pets are an integral part of the Stephens community.

Foster a Pet

It’s only natural that Stephens would take the next step and launch a Pet Fostering Program. Instead of bringing a pet to campus, students can choose to foster and prepare one for a “forever home.” The program includes training, health improvement, restoring their trust in people and, of course, providing love.
