Stephens College sponsors a number of off-campus study opportunities across the United States.

The Okoboji Summer Theatre in Spirit Lake, Iowa offers advanced theatre majors 10 weeks of concentrated study in drama and firsthand experience in all phases of summer stock activities under the direction of Stephens College faculty from the Department of Theatre.

Students may take Fashion Tours to Chicago or New York City during breaks to observe the fashion industry at work and to see theatre and dance productions. These faculty-sponsored travel programs are open to all students; credit may be arranged.

Stephens students participate each spring in the National Model United Nations in New York City. Prior to the event, students prepare to represent a member country of the United Nations in simulated UN meetings. Credit may be arranged.

Students may earn college credit and gain valuable experience in politics, economics and sociology through participation in the federal government internships in Washington, D.C., during the spring semester.
