Why did you choose to go to Stephens? Small classes, close-knit environment
What is your favorite thing about design? The "ah-hah" moment when I come up an idea I know is very solid.
What is your least favorite thing about design? I get very caught up in my designs, which sometimes leads to frustration. I get stuck on an idea or problem I'm having and just have to take a little break and regain my focus.
What was your goal when you were designing the piece/s that won the award/s? To create pieces that not only fit the criteria of the client's needs, but that would create excitement when viewed. I wanted people to gasp when they first see my work.
What is your favorite typeface? Why? I really like Big Caslon because I think it is a very basic font, with a twist. I love the numbers in this font; they are very unique and interesting.
What is a unique fact about you? I love being in the sun. Whether I am playing tennis or just walking around, being outside in great weather immediately puts me in a fantastic mood.

Why did you choose to go to Stephens? I chose Stephens on a bit of a whim because I wanted to study fashion at a small school. I found out I didn't love fashion after a while, but I still loved Stephens. I enjoy Stephens because of the hands-on experiences and projects I've had as well as the connections I've made with my professors.
What is your favorite thing about design? My favorite part about design is when that moment of inspiration strikes and millions of ideas start rushing through my head. Of course, I also love seeing a finished product that I'm really proud to call my own.
What is your least favorite thing about design? The one thing I really dislike about design is the hassle of switching documents into different programs or different versions of programs. In my perfect world, documents would switch programs seamlessly.
What was your goal when you were designing the piece/s that won the award/s? My goal with my self-promotional piece ("The 7 Most Important Words") was to create something that would express my personality on paper through thoughtful design. With "Left Behind" I wanted to pose a question, accompanied by a powerful image and story, that would lead to an intelligent debate about the amount of aid Western countries provide to the billions of people around the world living, and dying, in poverty.
What is your favorite typeface? Why? Definitely Helvetica Neue, because I find it so versatile. It can be clean and modern in one design and edgy and hip in the next.
What is a unique fact about you? I started skiing on my own when I was two, but my dad first took me skiing in a baby carrier when I was six months old.

What was your goal when you were designing the piece/s that won the award/s? To try and reach a specific target market that I researched, and open my mind to a new target market.
What is your favorite typeface? Why?
Don't have a favorite;, they all serve a purpose at one point.

What is your favorite things about design? Solving the problem, whatever it is, and getting into target's head to gain insight into his/her needs.
What is your least favorite thing about design? That for most of my "design time" I'm in front of a computer (I love to be up and about, especially outdoors).
What was your goal when you were designing the piece/s that won the award/s? Since I was the target market here, I wanted to make something that I would respond to, and that would reflect well upon the college.
What is your favorite typeface? Why? Yikes, what a question; I suppose I like Garamond--it's very classic.
What is a unique fact about you? I may never know what I want to be when I grow up--I certainly don't know now! And I really, really, really want a puppy!
