Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my horse to school?
Stephens has a limited number of stalls available for student horses. If you would like to receive a boarding contract, please call the stable office and a contract will be sent to you.
How much does boarding cost?
Board is $375 a month. When you sign a contract you will pay board for the entire school year or the semester. If you would like to work out a different payment plan, you can discuss that with the management in the barn office.
If I bring my own horse do I always have to ride him in class?
If your horse is suitable to ride in the class that you have signed up for, then you can ride him in your lessons. You can always ride a Stephens horse in class if your horse is not suitable for class or if you would just like to ride something different. Your horse does not become a program horse.
Who can go to horse shows?
Anyone can go to horse shows if they are ready to compete; you just have to ask your instructor!
If I bring my own horse can I still show a Stephens horse?
If you bring your own horse, you may show him or you can show a Stephens horse, if he better suits the classes that you would like to show in. We go to a variety of shows for riders of all abilities. We compete at schooling shows and A-rated horse shows.
