Performing Arts Weekend

Stephens College will host its annual Sigma Tau Delta Poetry Conference during the college Performing Arts Weekend. Events will include poetry workshops, readings, and more. Stephens College will provide travel assistance for any qualified high school Seniors and Juniors wishing to attend. Please visit our Admissions website for reservations and details on travel assistance for the Poetry Conference and Performing Arts Weekend. More details to come under the "events" link soon.

Introducing: The International Women's Poetry Scholarship

  • A $1,000 four-year tuition scholarship to Stephens College will be awarded annually for the best poem.
  • Second and Third place winners as well as Runners-up will be recognized at the 2008 Sigma Tau Delta Poetry Conference Awards Banquet. 

  • Winners and Runners-up will be selected for publication on the Sigma Tau Delta website of Stephens College, Alpha Eta Epsilon chapter.

All students who submit to the Poetry Scholarship are invited to attend the 2008 Poetry Conference and Performing Arts Weekend in March 14-16, 2008. Students are asked to make reservations through the Admissions website. Please note, a completed Online Campus Visit Registration Form is required three weeks prior to attending the Conference.

Eligibility

Applicants for the International Women's Poetry Scholarship must be full-time degree-seeking high school Senior or Junior women. Poems must be the original work of the applicant and must be written in English. Original work translated to English is acceptable and original language must be included with application. Please see online submission form for more eligibility details. A completed submission form is required to be considered for the scholarship. Please note that the document must be saved to a computer and emailed to [email protected] after again saving the document with the changes in order for the form to work.  Please disregard any dates on the form.

Deadline and Submission Form

DEADLINE EXTENDED! The deadline for the contest is now March 2, 2008. Winners will be announced at the Awards Banquet during the Conference. Submit up to THREE poems using the following online submission form. Forms should be completed and emailed to the following address:
