B.S. IN EDUCATION
Have you always enjoyed watching young children grow and learn, and thought you would like to become a teacher? To prepare you for a teaching career, our program will give you ample time to observe and understand how children – from infants through children in the elementary grades – learn.

Not only will you learn what to teach, you will also work closely with classroom teachers who will serve as skilled mentors and models as you learn how to teach an integrated curriculum. The small class sizes will support you in obtaining certification to teach young children (birth through sixth grade) in Missouri. Certification requirements vary, but Stephens can also help prepare you to teach in other states.

B.A. IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
This degree is perfect if you wish to work with young children and their parents in the non-public sector in settings like daycare centers. Combined study in the Education and Psychology departments will help you develop professional skills in psychology and child development. Upon graduation, you will be able to enter human services fields such as management, childcare, teaching, social services and drug or alcohol abuse counseling.
