All portfolios must include the following materials:
1. Short Essay
Write a short essay explaining why you want to study film at Stephens College and what has influenced your decision. Describe what inspires you to work in the film industry and your goals for the future. If you have already had experience in film, discuss your prior experience. If you haven’t, what do you hope to learn at Stephens?
2. Short Film or Video Essay
Short Film: Your film must be a completed work that tells a story or theme. You can choose to submit two short films at most. Applicants should also include a short note explaining what kind of work it represents and your involvement/role with the project. Entries should be from one (or two) of the following categories:
- Short documentary film
- Short narrative film
- Commercial
- PSA
- Experimental film
- Animated film
