Performance Opportunities

Our dance studios (four of them) and two theatres provide ample space for performances, rehearsals and individual time for movement exploration. Stephens Dance students perform in a minimum of four fully produced concerts each year.

  • The Stephens College Dance Company presents the work of resident faculty and guest artists in the spring and summer at the Macklanburg Playhouse, and students present their own choreography in the student-run Warehouse Theatre.

  • The Senior Dance Concert, held every fall, is fully choreographed and produced by senior dance majors, while Dance Collaborations, the student dance organization, produces the adjudicated New Works Dance Concert each spring.

  • Students also can audition for the Dimensions Repertory Dance Company, which performs at various community and campus events throughout the year.
Each summer, students work with internationally known guest artists during Stephens Summer Dance, an intensive six-week workshop that concludes with a fully produced public performance in the Macklanburg Playhouse.
