nternationalizing a course can add a new depth or perspective to any subject being taught, often making the learning experience more valuable for the student, as well as preparing her for the increasingly global marketplace. For faculty interested in taking students abroad, the Study Abroad Program Committee hopes to help you in any way you can. Below you will find the procedure, forms, and other helpful links necessary to help facilitate your study abroad experience. Please contact the SAPC coordinator, Cat Withrow, with any questions.
Procedure
Year in Advance:
Receive approval for course from Curriculum Committee
Research Study Abroad Plan
Submit Full Proposal to the Study Abroad Program Committee (SAPC).
Publicize program and begin recruitment.
Semester in Advance
Publicize Program/Recruit Students
Finalize details for trip
Make any necessary pre-departure arrangements, including passports, visas, transportation/hotel booking, etc.
Attend Study Abroad Orientation Meeting with students
During Trip
Keep in contact with SAPC regarding how the trip is going.
Upon Return
Write summary and submit pictures for Study Abroad Website
Partner with Affiliate and Non-Affiliate Programs
Partnering with existing programs and schools can save precious time on figuring out issues such as classroom space, guest lecturers, transportations, residence, food, health insurance, and similar concerns. The following programs will help facilitate your goals and make travel easier!
