175 Years of Amazing Women
Stephens College was founded in 1833 as the Columbia Female Academy. Before the telegraph, pasteurization, moving pictures, the American sewing machine, and the election of the 8th president of the United States, Stephens emerged with a vision far ahead of her time.

Out of these beginnings emerged a growing conviction that has carried Stephens through the years – the conviction that a rich, stimulating environment opens up a world of opportunity for women. This idea has been central to the mission of Stephens College ever since.

Throughout 2008, Stephens celebrates 175 Years of Amazing Women. We invite you to join us in recognizing the amazing women among us and fill out this form to nominate the Amazing Woman in your life.
